Sheriff's Office investigates shooting


LAKE PLACID – At approximately 12:32 a.m. Monday, deputies with the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a gunfire in the area of Highway Park Liquors at Vision Street and Crestmore Drive Lake Placid. The initial investigation at the scene revealed Jimmy Howard, 33, of Lake Placid, had been shot during an altercation outside the bar, according to Sheriff’s Office reports.
Howard was transported to the emergency room; he is currently in stable condition at an undisclosed hospital.  
Detectives were called to the scene and are still investigating the events surrounding this shooting and interviewing witnesses. This investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is requested to contact Detective Hank Smith at 402-7382.

Place is trash......they sit out there doing nothing but getting drunk. They blast their music at night just to annoy the folks in the surrounding neighborhoods....nothing but TRASH!!!!!
