RACHEL CARLTON

Oct. 23, 1928 - Dec. 22, 2012

Rachel Lynette Carlton passed peacefully with family by her side. She was born in Bowling Green, Fla. to Willa Mae and Thomas Morris Prevatt. She attended Sarasota High School and lived many happy years in Sarasota. She was a homemaker, an avid gardener, a computer whiz, and loved chatting with her kids on the computer. Nobody could work a crossword puzzle as quickly as she! On Jan. 28, 1951 she married S.R. "Jack" Carlton and they were blessed with four unique children.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Jack; children, Gloria Carlton of Sebring, Sharon (Jimmy) Jarnagin of Palmer Lake, Colo., Connie (Ronnie) Judy of Green Pond, Fla., and Morris Carlton of San Diego, Calif.; sisters Margaret (Johnny) Rowell and Carole (Dan) Parrish; a grandson and granddaughter, a great-grandson and many special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Bunny and Randall; nephews, Danny, Lynn and Tommy; niece, Terrie and great niece, Danielle.

A memorial services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013 at 10 a.m. at the Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home, 4001 Sebring Parkway, Sebring, with Marcus Marshall officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the hospice of your choice or to Good Shepherd Hospice, 1110 Hammock Road, Sebring, FL 3872. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Good Shepherd Hospice for their comfort and care of our loved one.
