AVON PARK -- Avon Park Police officers are investigating a shooting this morning in the parking lot of 1306 S. Tulane.
Information is still coming in.
A witness said he heard three gun shots at 10:05 a.m. but didn't think anything about them until Avon Park police knocked on his door while canvassing the neighborhood.
"I don't know how all that happened," he said.
He was in his parking lot retrieving something from his car when he heard three high-pitched gunshots up the road.
Around 11:20 a.m., he learned that his parking lot was cordoned off with a blue Oldsmobile with a bullet hole parked in the lot.
Not knowing how the car ended up in the parking lot, he believes he saw a couple cars speeding down the road about the time of the gunshots but doesn't know if they were associated with the shooting.
The Oldsmobile, a late-'80s or early-'90s sedan, had a bullet hole in the driver's side door, forward and under the mirror, about where one's knees might be, the witness said.
