Rebecca (Becky) Ann (Ewell) Marchant of Arcadia, Fla., went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, with her loving daughter, Angel by her hospital bedside in Port Charlotte, Fla. Becky was born on December 20, 1953, in Washington, D.C., to Thomas and Ruth (Connie) Ewell of Avon Park, Fla. Becky had a long and successful career for more than 35 years. Her last employment was with Chastain Skillman Architectural Firm of Sebring, as a civil draftsman for 29 years. She lived in Sebring for many years. She attended elementary, middle and high schools in Avon Park, Fla., graduating high school in 1972. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Avon Park during her younger years.
She is survived by her daughter, Angelique Dawn Marchant; her grandson, Michael Vincent Flowers Jr.; her sister, Barbara Carol Autry; her mother, Ruth C. (Connie) Ewell; her aunts, Naomi L.Sherd, Edna Whorton, and Myra Wingate; her uncle Jimmy (Margarete) Connaster; plus many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Thomas W. Ewell, and his sister, Janet Marie Jones.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at a later date at First Baptist Church of Avon Park, Fla. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to your favorite charity. Cremation arrangements were handled by Kay Ponder and Uselton Funeral Home in Port Charlotte, Fla.

Angel, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. May Jesus be your comfort. Can we even imagine how joyfully your mom is dancing now?? Heaven's gain! I pray that your memories will cause you to smile through the tears. Your mom was blessed to have your love.
