JOAN GRIFFIN

Joan Elizabeth Griffin, 85, of Sebring, died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012 at Somers Hospice House. A native of Ozone Park, N.Y. she had lived here since1988 coming from Hollywood, Fla.

She loved to knit, play bingo, volunteer and work with Green Thumb at several Highlands County schools.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James J. Griffin Sr.; daughter, Joan Griffin; son, James J. Griffin Jr.; twin brother, John White Jr.; and sister, Doris Stotler. She is survived by daughter, Alice Ann (Michael) Lord of Sebring, Fla.; son, Patrick William (Donna) Griffin of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; sister, Ruth (Paul) Boucher; brothers, William (Edith) White and David (Loretta) White; four grandchildren, Valerie Lord-Eskew, Patrick Griffin, Joseph Griffin, Donald Griffin; and five great-grandchildren.
