1 seriously injured in motorcyle crash

ARCADIA - An Avon Park man was seriously injured early Saturday morning in a a motorcycle accident in Arcadia.
According to Florida Highway Patrol reports, Andrew Dewayne Louis, 20, was driving his 2008 Kawasaki Ninja southbound on Oak Wood Avenue at around 12:38 a.m. Saturday. For unknown reasons, the motorcycle traveled onto the west shoulder of the road, causing Louis to lose control of the bike and collide with a ditch.
Reports indicate that the bike came to a rest on its left side on the roadway shoulder.
Louis, who was reportedly not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, is said to have suffered facial injuries and was airlifted to Lee County Memorial Hospital, according to FHP.
Charges are pending further investigation.
