Another continuance for Makris, Burgos
By SAMANTHA GHOLAR
SEBRING -- Circuit court Judge Angela Cowden advised attorneys to be mindful with the defendants involved in the Aaron Doty murder case Wednesday morning during another pre-trial conference.
Travis Makris and Giovanni Burgos, both charged with being accessories after the fact in the June 2012 death of Doty, were not present in the Highlands County courtroom Wednesday, however the defense attorney Bill Fletcher spoke on behalf of his two clients.
"I'm just kind of following the lead of lawyers in the murder case and continuing the (depositions) that are relevant to my accessory after the fact case. It's going to be a long process," Fletcher stated.
The State's Attorney offered no objection to another continuance.
Cowden granted another continuance but asked the attorneys to be attentive.
"I want you to keep a short leash on those cases ... and keep them updated," Cowden stated.
No plea deals were discussed in the courtroom Wednesday.
Cowden set the next pre-trial hearing for Burgos and Makris for July 17 at 8:30 a.m.
Good riddance (by: Blindman~ - 6/19/2013)
I will be glad when they put these two embeciles away and we won't have to see their names. As for the other two killers, send them on their way~
