JUNE FOLLIEN
June Jeanette Follien, who was born June 24, 1927 to Joseph and Olga Tronick in Stanley, Wis., passed away under the care of Good Shepherd Hospice in her daughter's home in Lake Placid, Fla. on Jan. 1, 2013, surrounded by her family. June was a cancer survivor 13 years ago, being diagnosed with recurrence on Jan. 4, 2012. June courageously fought her cancer until her final breath, never once giving up hope, or giving up her goals.
June was a homemaker and took great pride in her home and loved to garden. She was an active member of the Atonement Lutheran Church in Sebring, Fla. since her husband Arnold's retirement from the U.S. Postal Service in Chetek, Wis. in 1979. Part of June's ministry in the church was sending out greeting cards for every occasion to church members. Before leaving Chetek, the family were members of the Chetek Lutheran Church in Chetek, Wis. June was also a member of the Sebring Municipal Golf Course for 20 years, leaving the Chetek Golf Course with numerous tournament wins in her bag. June loved sports, and enjoyed watching her grandchildren participating in various high school events.
Over the years, June enjoyed sharing with family and friends her father's lifetime accomplishments, inventing the famous collectable Nonsinkable Tronick Tackle Box and the Tronick Tourist Tool Trunk.
June was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold, to whom she was married to for 59 years; sister, Lorraine Bruss of Florida and Betty Giblin of Ohio. June is survived by her sister, Juanita Dineen of Seattle, Wash.; and her twin brother, Jim Tronick of Milwaukee, Wis.; four children, Dana Follien of Chetek, Wis., John (Debbie) Follien of Pflugerville, Texas, Joanne (Gregory) Schock of Wauchula, Fla., and Carol (Gene) Pollard of Lake Placid, Fla.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2013 at Atonement Lutheran Church in Sebring, Fla. In lieu of flowers, donations in June's memory may be sent to Good Shepherd Hospice, 1110 Hammock Road, Sebring, FL 33870.
