SEBRING - With the recent end of tenure for Hardee County Commissioner Dale Johnson and DeSoto County Commissioner Ronald Neads, the Hardee and DeSoto boards of county commissioners have appointed Commissioner Mike Thompson and Commissioner James Selph, respectively, to replace the two outgoing commissioners and serve as the local elected official representatives on the Heartland Workforce Executive Board.
At the joint meeting of the Heartland Workforce Executive Board and the Board of Directors on Jan. 23, Highlands County Commissioner Jack Richie was elected to serve as the executive board chair and chief elected official, replacing Johnson, with Selph selected as the vice-chair, replacing Neads.
On behalf of the entire board and staff, Heartland Workforce President/CEO Roger Hood congratulates Richie and welcomes the new elected officials. Hood looks forward to a continuation of the close working relationship and partnership with the three commissioners in the ongoing efforts to enhance workforce development and economic viability in the tri-county region.
