AVON PARK - South Florida State College's Museum of Florida Art and Culture (MOFAC) will hold its Third Thursday program, Going Spiral: Art, Culture, and Science, at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21 in Building G, Room 101, SFSC Highlands Campus.
Spirals are found in the natural world from seashells to whirlpools to the galaxies. They can be found in prehistoric cave drawings and contemporary art, modern architecture and ancient tools. A mini-discussion will introduce the topic of spirals in art, culture, and science and how it has influenced art through the ages.
Third Thursdays at MOFAC is a series that will enhance and inspire the public's perspective on Florida art and culture. Each program focuses on a different MOFAC exhibition. The program is held every third Thursday of the month, is open to the public, and is free.
