AVON PARK - South Florida State College's Corporate and Community Education Department is offering an Introduction to Childcare class this spring. The 40-hour class will cover child care facility rules and regulations; health, safety, and nutrition; identifying and reporting child abuse and neglect; child growth and development; behavioral observation and screening; and special needs appropriate practices. This class will meet from 5:30-9 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, Feb. 26-April 11.
The cost is $199.99 (price includes six manuals) and will be held at the SFSC Highlands Campus, 600 W. College Drive, Avon Park. Register in Building B at the Highlands Campus or any SFSC campus or center.
