LAKE PLACID - The local Chapter of the Florida World Organization of China Painters announced the date and theme of their Annual Tea today. "Pearls, Lace & Vintage Grace" will take place on Sunday, March 17 from 1-3:30 p.m. at the Caladium Co-op in Lake Placid. This event is orchestrated for the public to attend and is the Lake Placid China Painters opportunity to share with others the beautiful art of china painting.
The porcelain artists from the Lake Placid China Painters Club will exhibit their hand-painted art, both on display and for sale. In addition, the afternoon will be filled with door prizes and drawings, live entertainment, snacks and assorted teas.
Two new activities to debut at the 2013 Annual Tea: first, a "Try Your Hand" table, manned by local club members and is your chance for a beginning lesson on porcelain painting. Secondly, a slide show of the FLWOCP (Florida World Organization of China Painters) annual show and convention that took place in January 2013 in Orlando, and hosted by the Lake Placid China Painters, will be shown.
State officers on the FLWOCP board from Lake Placid are: President Jana Filip, First Vice President Linda Carr, State Convention Chairman Gary Filip, and State Convention Banker Willie Fox.
FLWOCP is a non-profit organization with 17 clubs throughout the state of Florida. The three-day annual show and convention features artists and vendors from around the world. Demonstrations, workshops, and seminars take place over the course of the three days to introduce the newest in techniques and supplies in the world of the porcelain artist.
Come and see these techniques and supplies demonstrated live by the local club at the "Pearls, Lace & Vintage Grace" Annual Tea on Sunday, March 17 from 1-3:30 p.m. at the Caladium Co-op. The Caladium Co-op will also be open for business on March 17 and is at 132 E. Interlake Blvd. in downtown Lake Placid. The Caladium Co-op features arts and crafts in many mediums by talented local artists.
