SEBRING -- Highlands County Sheriff Susan Benton will be the guest briefer at the Saturday meeting of the South Central Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America at the Military Sea Services Museum.
Benton, now into her second term, has been asked to talk about the highlights of her tenure as Highlands County sheriff as well as what she hoped to accomplish in her second term.
Retired Air Force Colonel Roy P. Whitton, chapter president, pointed out that this will be a "Coffee An" session with all MOAA members, spouses and guests invited to attend. The meeting will start at 9 a.m.
Following Benton's presentation and a question and answer period, MOAA officers will hold their regularly monthly board meeting. On the agenda will be the MOAA participation in the Air Force Association annual Science and Math Honors luncheon honoring students from all public schools in Highlands County on Tuesday, April 28.
Another item on MOAA's agenda will be a progress report on the restoration project of an Air Force drone, which was used in training at the Avon Park Air Force Range during the Cold War.
