Highlands Art League receives help from Home Builders Institute

Special to the News-Sun

SEBRING - Highlands Art League has been very fortunate this year to have many volunteers helping with their efforts to restore the buildings and ground in The Village complex. One of their main contributors of man hours has been the Home Builders Institute - Avon Park Youth Academy, the workforce development arm of the National Association of Home Builders.

Young men from the academy under the direction of Project Coordinator Bob Bucy and the supervision of Project Craft instructors, helped construct The Village sign, plant flower beds and most recently, install lighting and plumbing fixtures in the Visual Art Center.

Instructors with the Institute who lead this group of productive young men include, Rick Miller, plumbing; Brain Martin, electrical; Billy Jackson, masonry and Joyce Norskov, landscaping.

Highlands Art League, Inc. a non-profit 501(C)3 organization, has been able to achieve many of their reconstruction goals for The Village because of the generous contribution and hard work of members of this worthwhile program.
