AVON PARK - South Florida State College's Museum of Florida Art and Culture (SFSC MOFAC) presents Reflections from an Artistic Marriage: Watercolors, Oils, and Batiks, Phil Fisher and Natalie Guess. The exhibition will be on display Oct. 10-Dec.1.
Phil Fisher's colorful and vibrant paintings capture the moment. With a visual preference for landscape, most of his work is done "en plein air." Natalie Guess paints using the rare art form known as batik - painting with hot, clear wax and color dyes. The natural environment of Florida is reflected in her work.
Fisher and Guess will present an artist program about their exhibit, and Guess will demonstrate the batik process during SFSC MOFAC's Third Thursday program at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18 in SFSC MOFAC.
SFSC MOFAC is open to the public from 12:30-4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, one hour prior to each Artist and Matinee Series performance and by appointment for group tours.
