CHARLES HANVEY

Charles A. Hanvey, age 81, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012 in Lorida, Fla. He was born in Anderson, S.C. on June 11, 1931 to James William and Winnie (Thrasher) Hanvey. He was a truck driver for a gas company, served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean Conflict and was a resident of Lorida since 1974, coming from Georgia.

He is survived by his wife, Caroline Ann Hanvey, Lorida; daughters, Wanda Hanvey (Dale) of California, Teresa Lester (James), Lisa Hanvey Jacobs (Fitz) and Anita Hanvey Faircloth (MacAllen), all of Lorida; sons, James Hanvey and John F. Hanvey, both of California, and John D. Hanvey and Samuel Garner, both of Lorida; sister, Wanda Jones Hanvey of South Carolina; brothers, Jimmy Hanvey and Gary Hanvey, both of South Carolina; 23 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and step-mother, Cora Lee Hanvey; son, Charles A. Hanvey Jr. and daughter, Linda Hanvey.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012 at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Lorida. Visitation will be one hour before service time, beginning at 2 p.m. Cremation arrangements entrusted to:
