KEVIN M. MEGNO, SR.
Kevin M. Megno, Sr., 55, of Sebring, Fla., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012 in Sebring. He was born to Joseph and Glennis (Craig) Megno on Nov. 10, 1957 in Millinocket, Maine, and had been a resident of Sebring since 2000, coming from Maine. He was a deputy sheriff with the Highlands County Sheriff's Department and was employed as the School Resource Officer at Avon Park Middle School. He was of the Catholic faith; enjoyed riding motorcycles and he loved his Harley. He was a member of the Blue Knights, the Moose Lodge, the Elks, the American Legion Riders and ABATE, and was a loving father and grandfather.
Kevin is survived by his fiancé, Deborah Harris of Sebring; children, Kevin Jr. (Sandy), Danielle, Tony (Jamie), and David; eight grandchildren; brother, Frank (Linda); and sisters, Kelly (Michael) and Tina (Harry).
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012 at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home, Sebring, with Father Jose Gonzalez officiating. A reception will follow the service at 5614 North Key, Sebring, FL 33875. The family will receive friends at the funeral home the hour preceding the service, beginning at 3 p.m. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to the DARE Program, c/o Highlands County Sheriff's Department, 434 Fernleaf Ave., Sebring, FL 33870.
