AVON PARK - South Florida State College Athletic Director and Head Baseball Coach Rick Hitt was recently selected to serve as president of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Men's Baseball Coaches Association.

The NJCAA is the national governing body for two-year college athletics in the United States and is the nation's second-largest national intercollegiate sports organization.

During the three-year term, Hitt will oversee all national junior college Division 1, 2, and 3 meetings.

He will also serve as a liason between two-year and four-year colleges on the American Baseball Coaches Association's (ABCA) executive committee.

"It is a great honor to have been selected to serve as the NJCAA Men's Baseball Coaches Association president," Hitt said. "It allows me to represent SFSC and help get our college known nationally. It also allows me to give back to all of the coaches that I have played for and coached with across the country and to help make junior college level baseball the best it can be."

Previously, Hitt was secretary and vice president of the NJCAA Men's Baseball Coaches Association.

He also currently serves as chairman of the Suncoast Conference Baseball, chair-elect of the Council for Athletic Affairs, and is a member of the FCSAA Executive Board and the FCSAA baseball committee.

In March of 2012, Hitt was inducted into the Santa Fe College Athletics Hall of Fame.
