The Declaration of Independence states that all men have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The Constitution states "the right to life, liberty and property."
Socialism: "Any of various theories or systems of social organization in which the means of producing and distributing goods is owned collectively or by a centralized government that often plans and controls the economy."
Certainly socialism's collective ownerships flies in the face of our constitutions liberty and private property.
"No money (property) shall be taken without just compensation." If your father has property and he dies and through laws passed by congress, the government wants part of that property. It isn't the property itself that the government wants, it's the median of exchange (money) that they want.
Therefore there must be just compensation for the taxes (money) that the government collects. Compensation (just is debatable) for our taxes is the funding of armed services and the three branches of our government. But there is no where in our wildest imagination is there any compensation in welfare and subsidies.
Is welfare and subsidies the socialist's camels noise under the tent? Or is welfare and subsidies really the bailiwick of socialism or is it politicians use of human nature to promise all these goodies to propel themselves into power.
Government should not be in the business of compassion because politicians are inept at spending other peoples money. Compassion should be the business of we the people through churches and other organizations.
Ignorance of history is no excuse, it can be counterfeited. Governments fail when they extract to much from the citizens for one reason or another. The United States is not immune from over taxation.
Is the constitution being ignored? Is running a $16 trillion debt and climbing promoting the general welfare? Is giving money to anyone without compensation constitutional? The problem would be solved if the nine supreme would declare that government give away was unconstitutional and it would start a trek to sanity.
Where is the nine black robes when you need them?
