Holistic medicines may cure more illnesses

Editor:

As time goes on, we are hearing, seeing and reading of the value of holistic medicines and therapies and many people are turning to health food stores in search of cures of illnesses and diseases. Technology has opened doors to a vast amount of knowledge and secrets. We now know the cures of many illnesses and dreadful diseases have been with us from the beginning of time.

God would not leave us in a world of hurt without the cures to make it better.

Several years ago I wrote a letter to the News-Sun in which I shared the fact that my mother was half Indian.

She lived in the area of East Concord, Vt., spending much of her early childhood with her grandparents, Eathan Allen Crawford and his wife, Lucy, who wrote the "History of the White Mountains" while living there in the 1800s.

I will be 93 in this coming April, if God wills.

When I was a very little girl I clearly remember of my mother taking a basket and a knife, heading toward the woods to stock up on "medicine" for the winter.

There were six of us children and my parents. We never had a doctor that I recall except the time I fell and broke my arm.

My mother's collection of roots, bark from a tree and several different plants along with skunk's oil for the croup were the bulk of our pharmacy supplies coupled with her cur for stomach worms, bronchitis and belly aches and ability to assess and close wounds, not only for our family, for others in the neighborhood, as well. We all survived thanks to mother's medical knowledge and skills.

I am reminded of Suzanne Somers, the movie actress. Several years ago, she had cancer with a serious prognosis.

Following firm advice from her doctors, Miss Somers investigated her condition thoroughly, according to a magazine article and refused treatment of chemotherapy and radiation. She treated herself with herbs and therapies and, as far as I know, is free of cancer today.

Miss Somers appeared on Home Shopping Club about two weeks ago, looking healthy and as beautiful as ever.

I was shocked to learn that in 1966, the senior oncologist of a New York hospital rocked the medical world when he developed a serum that shrank cancer tumors in 45 minutes.

The FDA ignored the research and shut him down. His name, Dr. Burton. Another chilling disclosure Dr. Joanna Budwig, a six-time Nobel nominee discovered a total natural way of eradicating cancer; she attempted to publish her findings. Dr. Budwig was blocked by manufacturers with huge financial stakes.

She was denied publications, blocked by giants who don't want us to read her works. Now why is that, if it isn't all about money?

In 1947, Dr. Virginia Livingston, M.D., isolated a cancer-causing microbe, a bacteria lives in all of us from birth to death promoting cancer when the immune system is weakened by disease, stress or poor nutrition. The microbe short-circuits our immune system by secreting a special hormone allowing the microbes to grow unprotected for years.

Patients are loaded with cancer by the time the microbe is detected. That information was hushed up, as well.

It appears to be true, the pharmaceutical manufacturers, our doctors may indeed have a blurred vision when it comes to honesty, integrity, as opposed to lust for money and power.

Their determination to control our health regardless of the outcome is evident.

According to reports on television, 250,000 patients lost their lives in the United States through the year 2012, due to doctors' mistakes, untested new medicines, other than on animals, beside possible other deaths undisclosed.

If we all cured our illnesses and diseases with holistic medicines, we could be much healthier.
