Cancer mortality rate makes decline

Editor:

A new American Cancer Society report, released Friday, Feb. 1 shows a 20 percent decline in cancer mortality from its peak in 1991, translating to the avoidance of approximately 1.2 million deaths from cancer. That's more than 400 more birthdays celebrated each and every day.

This new information gives the ACS great hope that we will succeed in efforts to save more than 1,000 lives from cancer each day, and that we are on our way to finishing the fight against this disease.

We in Tanglewood are thrilled to be a small part of this success story.
