Fundraiser did not take place

Editor:

We, at Wrede's Wildlife Rehabilitation Center Inc., would like to thank all the sponsors who donated items to the fundraiser golf tournament. We also want to thank all the sponsors who paid for tee and green signs that were to be placed on the golf course.

We want to thank all the Wrede's volunteers who helped with setting up the event; it was hard work for everyone involved. I also want to thank everyone who was going to help at the golf tournament to make it a success. This was going to be the first fundraiser golf tournament. The money raised from this tournament was going to be used to build two eagle cages and to keep the center open for three more months One of the eagle cages was going to be for Thunder, our mascot here at the wildlife center.

However, a decision was made by (golf course management) and only by them, that the tournament was canceled. So there was no fundraiser golf tournament. They did not even contact David Wrede or anyone at Wrede's Wildlife. I did not know of the cancellation until Friday afternoon when I called to make sure everything was going good on our part and that we from Wrede's would be there along with Thunder, the Bald Eagle.

Wrede's Wildlife even had to make our word good and pay for the tee signs that were going to be used in the tournament. We will be out $102 in money that the wildlife center did not have to spend.

I want to thank the ones at (the golf course) for their unprofessional way that they worked with us.

I only hope that other nonprofit organizations (501c3) like Wrede's Wildlife Rehabilitation Center Inc. will think twice before they have a fundraiser at (the golf course) and even the golfers who play there will try to understand how the course is being managed.
