On behalf of the mayor's office and the people of Lake Placid, we want to congratulate the Lake Placid Swim Team, coaches, volunteers/parents and especially the swimmers and divers on winning both of your invitational meets and the district-wide competition all in the same year. This is a historic achievement for your team and our high school. I understand that the team has progressed even further to the upcoming regional meet in Orlando on Nov. 6. We wish the team all the very best at the regionals.
Most importantly, I also understand that, in addition to coaching the team to excellence in swimming and diving, the coaches are teaching the team the principles of character and sportsmanship to make them outstanding future citizens of our community. We are grateful for the coaches' commitment and the time spent to benefit our youth.
Congratulations to all of you - this is truly a historical achievement. We take honest pride in all of you.
