Studying history, we can see this title is true; faces and circumstances may change, the results are the same. As the saying goes, "Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it."
The kingdom of Israel divided into two factions - in the north, Israel; in the south, Judah. In time, both factions were enslaved by other nations. Before that they were in a state of civil war with each other.
We have seen that very thing here in America. In the history of Israel and Judah many lives were lost due to this war, so America suffered as well. The development of these dividing factions began to emerge long before the division of Israel. So also in this country; today we know them as parties, the two dominate ones - Democrats and Republicans - basically make the policy that drives this country.

Secular political reasoning became the drive of the two factions, Israel and Judah. They had turned from their creator, God. They sought alliances with ungodly countries and political figures; turned to Egypt, the country that enslaved them. It was the comforts of Egypt that drew them and captured them into slavery, and drew them away from God.
In America we have turned from our God, the God that led our founding fathers to establish this country and its constitution, to another god and another constitution, the god of money and power guided by the constitution of greed. In the place of statesmen, like our founding fathers who led the people in the grand experiment of a self-ruling constitutional republicanism, we are herded by greedy, selfish politicians into mob rule, known as democracy. The democratic mob wants things done now, you know, "pass it, so we can know what is in it." Our founding fathers established Republicanism so that we could debate, hear all sides and make an informed decision. Time was used wisely, not hurried as it is in our fast food, shake n' bake society of today.
We need a revolution of revival in America; it begins within us individually, our constitution and our relationship with God are based upon our individual standing. Only then can we become moral citizens and choose moral statesman this country needs. John Adams said, "Our constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."
