In reference to "Purpose needs to be addressed", Nov. 14, 2012, the Preamble to the constitution states, "We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."
The Constitution answers all 27 grievances in the Declaration of Independence, which were written to show the need to replace the English Monarchy the colonies were under at that time. The preamble summarizes the answers to the objections in the Declaration.
"Establish justice", does not uphold activist judges, indeed it restricts them to the written boundaries' of the Constitution. They are not to make law, that is Congress' job; and all three branches have the duty to interpret the Constitution. Activist judges were part of the 27 complaints.

"Insure domestic tranquility", the government will uphold constitutional laws to give everyone the same opportunity to better themselves financially as well as pertaining to education. We can accomplish this by our own effort, which is through study and hard work to reach the goals we set for ourselves. Also to serve our God in the religion of the Bible, that is the Judeo-Christian faith as our founding fathers understood religion to be.
"Provide for the common defense", this places responsibility on the government as well as the citizen. To the government to raise financing for a standing army and navy and to the citizen a duty to serve in those respected branches of military service.
"Promote the general welfare", government does this best by letting the people be free to pursue their own means of support, their own beliefs, and their own happiness as long as it does not infringe upon the rights of others as guaranteed them in the Constitution.
"Secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our prosperity", if we uphold the common law, and our elected officials do likewise, our liberties are secure. Common law does not come from any government it comes from God, the founding fathers wrote in the Declaration of Independence, "laws of nature and nature's God".
Finally I address the reference to Marbury vs. Madison, Jefferson and Madison ignored the Supreme Court's ruling, as was their right.
