The Bulldogs themselves came to town sporting a matching 3-0 record to provide further impetus for the highly anticipated match-up. A predominant defensive battle throughout most of the first half, the JV Streaks missed a chance for an early lead as Connor Cook had an apparent rushing score that was called back due to penalty. Then the weather stepped in, causing a 45-minute lightning delay just before halftime. When play resumed, Sebring went on the march again and looked to get on the board before the break. But a stalwart Frostproof defense stood strong and stifled them to keep it scoreless at the half. The stalemate was finally broken in the third when Cook again charged through the line for a score, with no penalties this time around, for a 6-0 Sebring lead. The Streak defense proved nearly impenetrable and quite opportunistic. Todd Markham, Kolten Hinkle, Shawn Success and Patric Anderson each were credited with sacks and Lane Hammond's acrobatic interception highlighted five takeaways for the Blue Streak defenders. In the fourth, Tony Jenkins added an insurance score, with the two-point conversion upping the ante to 14-0. A late score for the Bulldogs was the one blemish on the night, but merely provided for the final margin. "It was a whole team effort," head coach Chris Cook said. "Both our defensive and offensive lines stepped up to the plate in leading us to this victory. I couldn't have asked for a better win from this team." Now at 4-0 on the season, Sebring hits the road Thursday for a meeting with the Wildcats at Hardee. ![]() Pride (by: Cynthia - 9/30/2012) Nice article about the boys.
