Opposed to Swamp Hammock

Editor:

I'm appalled that Gabe White of the planning staff and zoning and commissioners are for the Swamp Hammock Recreational Ranch, on 1,134 acres. Who would consider allowing all these atrocities that they preface?

People have been living peacefully in this area; we moved here for love of nature and a quiet, peaceful lifestyle. We've paid our taxes, have taken excellent care of our home and land and now, if proposal goes through, will be inundated with traffic, noise, litter and will lose our treasured wildlife. How shameful; I oppose it.

Well said Ms. Yoder. Just say no! No Swamp Thang!

People who live out that way have moved out there for a reason. Peace, quiet and wildlife.
Unless Gabe wants to make Crewsville and 10 mile grade the access road for his "project".
Or, make it into something fun but toned down. How about a giant zip line or other activities such as that. Camping, fishing, etc. Take out the motorized event which we know is just going to be something like the Animal Area at the Sebring Races. Definately not kid friendly.

Swamp Hammock is a bad idea for the location they want to use. It does not fit in with the adjacent land use; quiet homesteading and ranching. It is in the area of the wildlife corridor for bears and other wildlife crossing thru.Sure, there would be some who would not be frightened off by this but the ones that are most in danger of extinction are not in that category because of their inability to adapt to things like loud noises and people tearing the place up as would be the case for this use of the land.
