Sweet Wars was a sweet success
Editor:
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the community for the tremendous support they afforded Cornerstone Hospice, license 5019096, during our recent Sweet Wars Event at the Bert J. Harris Agricultural Center. A special thank you goes out to this year's sponsor, attorney Michael L. Keiber and his staff, Terry Elwood, Renee Miller, Debbie Latimer, Heather Mikell, and Maritza Morales, as well as Meredith Keiber for their sponsorship and advocacy of Cornerstone Hospice services in Highlands County.
The tremendous amount of talent in our local assisted living facility chefs is amazing. Chef Mac Gentleman and the Palms of Sebring, this year's winner, and Balmoral's Chef Jacob Lyons, Southern Lifestyle's Chef Robin Norton, Maranatha Manor's Chef Romona Leopold, and Sunny Hills' Chef Rosa Walters, all deserve a round of applause. The event was attended by almost 150 people and the positive comments and excitement was overwhelming.
The money raised will help to service the hundreds of patients cared for by the agency in Polk, Highlands and Hardee Counties. Plans have already begun for the next Cornerstone Hospice Sweet Wars, so save room for dessert.
