Secory doesn't deserve job
Yet another audit of the fuel centers of the county has found more incompetency or those in charge. Mr. (Jed) Secory concured that the audit was correct. The first time it was discovered, employees were stealing fuel, one even confessed. Check county records. The next time it was discovered, the system was turned off, therefore anyone could pump fuel. All the keys were not accounted for and some were still in the hands of employees not working for the county any more. Now they still do not use the system installed to check on who, how much and when fuel was pumped.
My question and thoughts are why do we, the citizens and taxpayers, and therefore the employer, want to keep a person in a $80K per year position and he can not handle a simple task of record keeping. More important, why should we give him a $112K job that he has no experience in, when he can't do the job he has now correctly?
The only thing I know about Ms. (Penny) Ogg is that she has eight years experience in the office and therefore is much more qualified than Mr. Secory.
Early voting starts soon. Think, think and recheck their qualifications and vote wisely.

County Policy Manual (by: plugged in - 10/13/2012)
The Highlands County Policy manual prohibit for County employees to "run" for office while employed as County employees. How is Jed allowed to run without consequence for HCBCC regulations?
Jed's a joke (by: Citizen - 10/11/2012)
Jed's a joke. How did he get the position he has? Ask county employees about him. Big weakness in Admin. The new administrator should make a few changes.
80K (by: matio - 10/11/2012)
