Juveniles recovered in Fort Pierce

Special to the News-Sun

SEBRING - At approximately 4:30 p.m. Monday, a non-custodial parent, Lisa Lyons, took her two boys from their Sebring home without the permission of their father, the custodial parent. The boys - 15 years of age and his 12 year old brother - were picked up by their mother in a gray Nissan and ultimately taken to her residence in Fort Pierce in violation of court orders.

After a thorough investigation and with the cooperation of the Fort Pierce Police Department and the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office, the boys were found unharmed at the Fort Pierce residence.

Lyons was arrested and taken into custody by authorities in Fort Pierce. She was charged with violation of an injunction. Lyons is being held at the St. Lucie County jail pending transfer to Highlands County. The children were taken to the Fort Pierce Police Department where they were picked up by their father.

This case is closed with the recovery of the juveniles, their return to the care of the custodial parent and the arrest of Lyons.
