Child's death ruled homicide

SEBRING – An ongoing investigation into the death of infant Milo Rupert  on July 7, 2012 has resulted in additional charges to the suspects in the case. Kyle Lee Marsh Rupert, 22 , of  Sanford, and Sandra Michelle Jackson,  25, of Avon Park, were previously arrested and charged with child abuse in this case and are currently being held in the Highlands County Jail.
Wednesday, the Medical Examiner's report was received, which indicated the cause of death to be non-organic failure to thrive due to underfeeding and neglect. The Medical Examiner further determined the manner of death as homicide, according to Nell Hays, public information officer with the Highlands County Sheriff's Office. With these findings, additional charges of aggravated manslaughter of a child have been placed against both suspects. They will be held in the Highlands County Jail under no bond.
