Thomas dead on Feb. 1, is in custody after turning himself in to the Highlands County Sheriff's Office the next day. According to the arrest report, the shooting occurred about 1 a.m. Friday on the sidewalk next to 755 Lemon Ave. Thomas had what appeared to be a gun wound to the face, and died while on the way to the hospital. When the police arrived, the victim lay in a pool of his own blood, the arresting report said. Witnesses told law enforcement, "that Collins approached Thomas on the sidewalk and confronted him about money Thomas owed him. Before Thomas could respond, Collins allegedly shot Thomas in the face before he could speak about the money issue." The report recommends a charge of pre-meditated murder because Collins is said to have shot Thomas without giving him a chance to respond. Instead, the court charged Collins with homicide murder not premeditated during another felony. Collins also is charged with possession of a weapon or ammunition by a delinquent adult felony. According to the arrest report, Collins dropped out of Sebring High School in 10th grade. He turns 19 in March and was unemployed at the time of the shooting. He is being charged as an adult and being held without bond. ![]() free him (by: ms collins - 2/11/2013) i love you dwayne i dont believe he would do such a thing he's a sweetheart and if he did the devil made him do it like the man above just said ^^^^^^ Shooter (by: Terry - 2/6/2013) Toss him in a dumpster and be done with it. What it is? (by: Blindman - 2/6/2013) The poor claim money to be "the root of all evil", the rich claim poverty to be the root of evil, and some say it's culture that glamorises violence and is just plain evil in itself. So can the perpetrator of an evil act be held accountable for dastardly deeds others readily make excuses for? If poverty breeds evil, it can't be the killers fault, it must be someone else's. Maybe the devil made him do it... yep, it's all his fault! Small Banner Ads |
