Minor collision involves a school bus; no children injured By CHRISTOPHER TUFFLEY christopher.tuffley@newssun.com LAKE PLACID -- A minor fender bender between a 2008 Chevy station wagon and a school bus Wednesday morning led to charges of careless driving against Richard Orton, 48, of Lake Placid. According to the Florida Highway Patrol report, the incident occurred at 7:15 a.m. at the corner of U. S. 27 and County Road 29. The school bus was stopped at the intersection. The driver began to pull on to 27, saw traffic coming and stopped again. Orton, who had started to move when the bus did, failed to notice it had stopped and collided into its rear.
