Two dead in apparent murder-suicide

SEBRING -- The Highlands County Sheriff's Office is investigating a domestic incident that apparently ended in a murder-suicide on Sunday.

According to a press release, deputies were dispatched to 3529 Cemetery Road at around 1:30 p.m. Sunday for a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, deputies found that an altercation had taken place and two people were severely injured.

Susie Ann Ahmed, 37, was pronounced dead at the scene by responding EMS personnel. Berthony Sainjerlus, 27, was transported to the hospital and subsequently died of injuries sustained during the incident.

Causes of death of both victims will be determined by the District 10 Medical Examiner's Office. Detectives are continuing to investigate this incident however there are no suspects at large at this time.

"Detectives are working this incident as an apparent murder-suicide," Chief Deputy Mark Schrader said.
