By SAMANTHA GHOLAR
SEBRING -- It's going to get loud in downtown Sebring this weekend.
The second annual Sebring Thunder event will be held on the Circle beginning Friday evening. The three-day event will be full of muscle cars, classic cars and plenty of other vehicles for car enthusiast.
Friday evening the action begins with a burnout contest at 7 p.m. Registered cars will compete to see who has the best engine and sound and which car can make the most tire-screeching smoke. The burnout contest will take place on Mango and Ridgewood. There will be plenty of music provided by a live band Friday.
The event will kick off bright and early on Saturday at 9 a.m. Included in Saturday's festivities will be a car show, swap meet, live band, and a DJ. The Sebring High School band will also be present Saturday along with plenty of barbecue and a banquet.
The event will wrap up Sunday with the fun-filled drive on the historic Sebring International Raceway. Vehicles are allowed to drive the track at the Raceway and get a feel of what drivers do.
"It's going to be a party atmosphere. Everyone will be have a good time," said John Griffin, one of the organizers.
Spots are still open. The $25 registration fee includes the welcome reception, burnout contest entry, car show entry, the raceway drive and a barbecue ticket.
