Avon Park home invasion being investigated

AVON PARK -- At approximately 11:30 p.m. Wednesday night, Highlands County Sheriff's Deputies and Avon Park Police Officers responded to a home invasion call at 18 S. Summit Ave.

The victim said two armed subjects entered his home and demanded money. The victim was injured during the incident, however no shots were fired. The subjects were described as one Hispanic male and one black male, both with firearms.

No further description of the subjects or their direction of travel from the scene was available.

The investigation in this case is ongoing. Anyone with information is requested to contact the Highlands County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Unit and Detective Kenny Young at 863-402-7250.
