Deputies seek information in shooting
LAKE PLACID -- A man was robbed and shot outside a home in Lake Placid Sunday night, but is in stable condition.
According to a press relase from the HCSO, deputies were called to Florida Hospital Lake Placid at around 9:25 p.m. on Sunday, where they found 38-year-old Robert Allen Pauley being treated for a gunshot wound.
Pauley told deputies that he and a friend had just returned to Pauley's home at 1520 Oak Ave. from a shopping trip. The friend had gone inside the home with the items that had been purchased when Pauley was approached by at least two suspects, who demanded money.
The suspects took Pauley's cash and then shot him once as they ran away, the HCSO said. Pauley made his way to the house, yelling for help, and his friend took him to the hospital.
Pauley was later transported to another medical facility for treatment and is currently in stable condition, the HCSO reported.
