Hit-and-run driver injures teen
SEBRING -- The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a hit-and-run that seriously injured a Sebring teenager Wednesday night.
According to the FHP, 15-year-old Jasmin Dorsett was walking on the white line on the south side of Valerie Boulevard just east of Bream Avenue at 8:31 p.m. A dark-colored truck was driving southeast on Valerie and hit Dorsett, throwing her onto the south shoulder.
The truck left the scene of the crash and was last seen heading southeast on Valerie Boulevard. Dorsett was transported to Florida Hospital in Sebring.

To accidently hit a pedestrian is one thing... but to flee the scene leaving the victim helpless is cold hearted insult to injury and simply unforgivable. Wishing Jasmin & family the best.

There's no excuse for a hit and run. On the other hand, I would also have liked to know in what direction the teenager was walking, what color her clothes were, and why she was not on the grass but on the roadway when the vehicle hit her.
