SEBRING -- The curtain is about to rise on the Highlands Little Theatre's 2008-09 season. The emphasis is on toe tapping music and light hearted comedy.

Five shows are scheduled. The musical "Beauty and the Beast" starts the season Nov. 2, with a colorful production that includes all the fun and music of the classic Disney production, but with extra numbers as well.

That will be followed by Woody Allen's comedy "Don't Drink the Water", the musical "Thoroughly Modern Millie", the comedy "Shakespeare in Hollywood", and the musical "Smokey Joe's Cafe", which features the music of Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, early leaders of the rock and roll movement.

Season tickets go on sale today. The box office will be open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday. A season of dinner shows, $175 per person, earns the buyer $5 off each ticket.

Sunday shows, at which dessert is served, cost $100 for the season.

Show only tickets cost $75 for the season.

For more information visit the box office, www.highlandslittletheatre.org, or call 382-2525.
