I just ran into his daughter last night, not knowing about this tragedy. I did not know all that has been left upon her to deal with. This is a difficult time for her and just as citizens of this county we need to keep her and her family in our thoughts. I never recall meeting him but he was her father and I know she loved him very much.

Sympathetic, you need to know what you are talking about, these deputies Baker Act individuals because they threaten harm to themselves or others, they then transport them to Bartow to be evaluated. If you had any knowledge you would know the deputies are not the ones then deem them sane and release them, the doctors are!!!!!! So you cannt blame the deputies, they did their jobs, the do not have doctorate degrees to be able to evalute the mental health of someone. Good Job HCSO, some people have no idea what it must be like to respond or investigate calls of this nature.

Gena and others who knew my daughter and the boys. Have David keep in contact with his father. He will be informed of final arrangements when they are completed. He is the best person to inform Kyle and David of the situation. Heartfelt thanks to all who expressed concern for the families of both victims of this tragedy. This end for two fine young people has to be, "It is what it is", and can't be changed. The real ordeal left for the families and friends is just starting as we have to close out their personal affairs.

We have been friends with jim and his daughter for over 20 years. Our daughter and his grew up together on into middle school in Sebring. We moved to Blairsville in 1998. Jim came up often to visit us and we have many fond memories of the time we got to spend with them. We met Rikki and her boys when we moved here and also have many good memories of the time we spent with them camping, birthday parties etc...We and our children cared about them both. This is a tragic loss for family and friends in Sebring and Blairsville. Lets just all pray for those who have been left behind that God can provide comfort and peace in this.

My daughter has been dating Rikki's son David for a year and a half and he is at basic training in Ft. Benning and my husband had to tell David. He was very upset. These are wonderful boys. If anyone knows how we can find out where a memorial service will be we need to be able to tell David ahead of time. We have gotten to know Rikki over this time and I know she loved these boys more than anything and they loved her. Please help if anyone can. We dont even know her parents names. thanks

I AM VERY SORRY FOR THIS FAMILY'S LOSS HOWEVER I KNEW JIM AND RIKKI PERSONALLY.. THIS HAS BEEN VERY UNJUST I BET THE SHERIFF'S DEPT DIDNT RELEASE JUST A FEW MONTHS AGO JIM WAS BAKERACTED FOR WANTING TO KILL HIMSELF AND HIS FAMILY.. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED BUT WE HAVE HCSO TO THANK FOR THAT... THEY ARE MORE WORRIED ABOUT WHAT SPOUSE THEY ARE GONNA CHEAT ON WITH THAN PREVENTING A TRAGEDY LIKE THIS.. I heard from a friend that read it on the internet about her and her boyfriends death. I just talked to her two weeks ago. She was a great person and loved her two boys more than life itself. I worked with her and she had a heart the size of the Grand Canyon... = ( Have her parents been notified???? And her sister? I hope they dont find out like I did! = ( God rest their souls.... So TRAGIC for both families and friends

Judy, the bottom line was the the news sun needed to wait till it was confirmed that all family members have been told. and just because ya own it doesn't mean ya live there!!!. and as far as rage and so on on this site, i think people are at a loss when someone feels there only way out is to take there own life and that of a loved one. some here may have known him, and just not seen how deep in trouble he was in. this may upset the family but it is at this point blowing off steam, because it leaves family and friends forever wondering if they could have stopped this in some way. also our law enforcement are having to deal with things like this more and more each day, theses images and smells do not leave there minds they have to learn to process it in a way that it does not eat them alive.you may not like them sometimes, but they need our support. many prayers to the children that they find some sort of peace.

I'm not sure what is sadder, the fact that two people lost their lives in such a tragic manner or that you all are acting like spoiled grade school children trying to kill each other with insults. You know your right MOST of the Deputies are good people, and I do hope god blesses the family of those people, but as for some, well they are just crooked cops that will TRUMP up charges for people that wont bow down to there crooked way of life, as for a grudge, well more like sour grapes that some poeple around here are drunk with power. When you make a derogatory remark about two HCSO law enforcement members, tell everyone your motivation for making them. Tell everyone about your fairly recent arrest, along with your family member's (plural) arrest recently for some pathetic ill doings. Your Facebook pictures are viewable on the HCSO web-site as guests of Aunt Susan's Bed and Breakfast. You must like the food because you have been there a few times to feast on it! The real story will be told when it needs to be. How about saying something positive about this tragedy like you will pray for the loved one's left behind, but instead you use it as a venue to badmouth two cops; you're pathetic. After you get done thinking about this post for a few seconds, go ahead and order "Hooked on Phonics" or suggest to staff the option of "spell check." My prayers go out to the family, the law enforcement officers that have to deal with this type violence on a daily basis, and the gentleman who found the two bodies.
