Yup, it's gonna be hard to find another City Manager for Avon Park. I've been here for 31 years and have watched the decline of Avon Park as time went on. It didn't matter if it was the Police Department, the City Council, the Mayor's post (Lt. Gov.?) give me a break or the numerous City Managers that have filled the position. The internal strife within the city goverment is never-ending and I suspect will continue to be that way. You'd better advertise for this position out of town........WAY out of town. Anyone that has any knowledge of Avon Park's past issues would be an idiot to apply for the job.

Sarah Adelt is the best thing to happen to the City of Avon Park in many years. It is sad that there are a few ignorant (just read their emails!) people who seem adept only at name calling. It will be a tough job to find another city manager who is half as good.

Why is it at Christmas time business's decide to take out Christ out of Christmas and insert an 'X', good example on all three signs at Carmike's Lakeshore Mall Cinemas....DISNEY'S CHRISTMAS CAROL 3D....reads XMAS CAROL 3D......WHY?....you know they have the letters...was it the mgr.idea or the sign changer? This is one of the best things that could happen to Avon Park. New council and now new City Manager. Out with the old and in with the new!!! Hopefully, the new council will chose someone who has the best interest of the city and its citizens at heart.
