SEBRING - The annual Sebring Rotary Touch a Truck, Touch a Plane event is scheduled to take off at 10 a.m. Saturday. The event is co-sponsored by the Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 1240 and offers fun for the whole family.

The event is held each year at the Sebring Regional Airport and offers kids, and kids at heart, the opportunity to climb aboard their favorite vehicles to get an up-close and personal view. Young, aspiring aviators can sometimes even sit in the pilot's seat of the privately-owned aircraft and let their imaginations run wild.

For more ground-friendly explorers, dozens of vehicles will be on display for all to enjoy. Fire trucks, ambulances, dump trucks and more will bring the fun and excitement in arms reach. The vehicles will represent a number of Highlands County workforce fields, including law enforcement, agriculture and construction.

There is even more fun to be had during the event with face painting, bounce houses, clowns and more. Admission price is $5 per person. Admission price includes hot dog and drink.

Other activities and foods will be available for additional prices.

Touch a Truck, Touch a Plane will be from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

The pancake breakfast fly-in will precede the event beginning at 8 a.m.

Funds raised from the event will be shared between The Champion for Children Foundation and EAA youth education.
